Klein Karoo Nationale Kunstefees 2010 nodigt speciaal jongeren uit  

Het Klein Karoo Nationale Kunstefees in Oudtshoorn wordt in 2010 van 1 tot 8 april gehouden. Afrika's grootste culturele festival wordt alweer voor de 16e keer georganiseerd (zie ook www.absakknk.co.za).

Een spannend project, genaamd KLAP, zal ook onderdeel zijn van het festival.

Linda Wilson, de Arts Development Manager van het festival, wil hieraan ook jongeren uit Alphen aan den Rijn deel laten nemen (zie de oproep van Linda Wilson hieronder). Het project was in 2009 een groot succes. Jongeren van 16 en 17 jaar worden uitgenodigd grensverleggende producties en voorstellingen bij te wonen en hieraan ook deel te nemen. Het biedt ook een unieke mogelijkheid om in kontakt te komen met Zuid-Afrikaanse jongeren.  

Wie ziet mogelijkheden om deelname van Alphense jongeren aan dit festival (mede) te organiseren ?

Klein Karoo Nationale Kunstefees 

I am Linda Wilson, the Arts Development Manager of the Absa KKNK, an arts festival held annually, for the past 15 years, in the March/April school holidays in Oudtshoorn, South Africa.  I would like to tell you about an exciting project that the festival will offer in 2010.  We would like to explore the possibility of getting young people from Alphen den Rijn (our twin city) to attend the programme too and would appreciate it if you could perhaps let us know how the best way to go about this would be. We call the project klap, which means clap (clapping hands), in English.  The project was initiated for the first time at our festival this year and has been such a success that we have decided to continue with it.  First, second and third language speakers of Afrikaans, in grade 10 and 11 (16 and 17 years old) are invited to participate in the programme.  The 2010 festival runs from 1 to 8 April 2010, with klap taking place form 6 to 8 April.  The 3-day festival package will appeal to learners interested in language or the performing and visual arts.  Learners are given the opportunity to see cutting-edge productions and exhibitions, with the added value of interaction with artists, directors and curators.  A range of stimulating workshops, presented by professionals in a number of fields, will also be on the programme.  Time is also allowed for social interaction between the learners.  We think it would be a wonderful opportunity for social interaction between a diverse group of young South Africans and young people from Alphen den Rijn.   Linda WilsonBestuurder:  Kunste OntwikkelingAbsa KKNK
